Take an international obsession with coffee, a healthy dose of humor, some blank cups and so many Sharpies, and you have All The Coffee Cups: A Coffee Table Book by @yoyoha.
Why on earth would an artist subject himself to drawing on a curved surface for nothing but internet likes from a bunch of beautiful strangers? To put a strain on my marriage, of course. Allow me to give you a little background.
The year was 2014, and I had amassed over 70,000 followers on Twitter writing jokes on a near hourly basis. But just as models really want to act, I really wanted to get back to my first love, drawing comics. So, one day as I was staring at the perfectly pristine side of my daily cup of coffee, I had a caffeinated shock of inspiration. I drew a cartoon on that cup, snapped a pic and posted it to Instagram and a few days later did it again. And people liked it. They liked it a lot.
So, it being March I challenged myself to make 100 cups by the end of the year. I added the hashtag #100CoffeeCups and set on my way. When I started the project, I had roughly 8,000 Instagram followers. At the end of 2014, I completed the challenge and shared my last cup with 68,000 followers – and I renewed my pledge to do 100 more and 4 years later I got lazy and stopped counting but have easily amassed well over 400 cups by now.
The illustrations featured on the coffee cups cover a wide range of topics, including my love for caffeine (of course), dogs, pop culture, and junk food. Some reveal sage wisdom (“Greet everyone as if they’re carrying a box of donuts”), while others make simple and funny observations. Once the project picked up momentum online, my coffee cups were being retweeted, shared and featured everywhere from The Today Show Online to Buzzfeed to Cosmo.
All the Coffee Cups: A Coffee Table Book is the ultimate collection of the all my best cups, the stories behind them and a bunch of additional coffee-related content exclusive to the book.
It’s the perfect gift for the coffee lover in your life: You.

Josh Hara, or @yoyoha, the self-professed “boy standing in front of the Internet, asking it to love him” is a 1996 graduate of the Columbus College of Art and Design, where he majored in illustration. After a five-year stint as a designer for a production company, he worked as a freelance graphic artist for clients big and small. During that decade, Josh developed a deep addiction affection for social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and turned his ability to write funny tweets into a career at an ad agency running social media programs for major brands.
Josh launched 100 Coffee Cups in March of 2014 and has no plans of stopping anytime soon. In that time, he has attracted over 190,000 followers on Twitter and Instagram. Pinterest not so much but he can be reached for a fantastic hummus recipe if you’re interested.

And I felt it. With every contribution, with every comment, with every Facebook share that kept the momentum going even when I wasn't holding up my end of the bargain.

I just learned about this feature on Unbound, so wanted to take a moment to update everyone on the All the Coffee Cups project.
After the February lauch I took a bit of a hiatus on promoting the book. I captured that struggle this multi-panel comic I posted on Instagram last week. And the response was just amazing.
So many people not only pledged their support, but the comments alone really…
