The Carpet Merchant of Konstantiniyya: Volume II,the-carpet-merchant-volii | Reimena Yee | undefined

Hello everyone,

Thanks so much for sharing pictures of The Carpet Mechant Volume 2! It's so wonderful to see the book on your shelves, especially paired with its red older sibling. :D

If you enjoy TCM and are interested in reading more of my work, I have a couple of graphic novels coming up.

1. Alexander, the Servant & the Water of Life, Book 1

This is the artistic follow-up to TCM: similar in genre, stylistically as ambitious, and bigger in scope. It's a graphic novel series about the life and legends of Alexander the Great, based on the 2000 year old literary tradition the Alexander Romance. Alexander begins to fear death and seeks out the Water of Life with his most trusted Servant. During their pilgrimage they encounter all sorts of fantastical things - from griffins to monsters and Amazonians - across time and place. Alexander looks back on his life and deeds that cemented his place in the world as an unforgettable historical figure.

The print edition of  Book 1's crowdfunding right now until August 20. There are bookmarks and an artbook and bookplates.

Like TCM it's available to read online on its own site, and includes its own author footnotes.

2. My Aunt is a Monster

A kids graphic novel. Safia, a blind bookish dreamer, longs for a life full of adventure just like the characters in her favourite books. After a tragic accident, she is adopted by her distant aunt, former World's Greatest Adventure, Lady Whimsy. But Aunty Whimsy has a secret (it's in the title, she's literally a monster), and has been in exile, presumed dead, for years for fear of backlash. When Whimsy's longtime rival starts to encroach on Whimsy's legacy, Whimsy must return to the world and Safia finally gets to have an adventure! However it's not all fun and games in this whimsical book full of strange and wondrous things.

Preorders are still ongoing, and the book will be released in early September!
