Hello everybody,

As everything everywhere falls apart, I thought you’d appreciate a quick note to tell you that your order for Four Chancellors and a Funeral is the exception: a thing related to the Tories which actually works!

The manuscript is finished, the facts have been checked, the eagles have legalled, and the book winding its way to you as fast as possible. It’s being printed right now, and will shortly be shoved into boxes, ready to land with an almighty thump on your doorstep on or before the 21 March.

Unfortunately, these things take time, but everybody involved has gone as quickly as possible. I can’t begin to tell you how grateful I am for your patience while the lawyers did their bit to make sure I’m not sued into a withered husk.

The other exceptional thing about Four Chancellors and a Funeral is that Unbound took the unprecedented decision to begin funding another book before the previous one had been published. I’m currently writing what I hope and pray will be the final volume of The Torygeddon Trilogy, Tories: The End of an Error.

Normally the publisher doesn’t like to have two consecutive fundraisers for the same author, but in this case our hand has been forced by the esoteric nature of Rishi Sunak’s decision-making process. Both Unbound and I want to document the latest set of surreal calamities, and the forthcoming general election, and that means I have to begin writing immediately, in case Sunak decides to spring a vote on us in May. The End of an Error will cover all of 2023 and 2024, so you have no excuses for forgetting what happened, and voting for these maniacs again.

Needless to say, I’d be overwhelmed if you could support the final book as wholeheartedly as you supported the first two. We are already geared-up to race through editorial, legal and fact-checking as quickly as possible, so the final volume can arrive with you while the stink of this government still hangs in the air.

Very sincerely, I hope you’re all coping OK under what is, without question, a truly horrible period in our nation’s history. It’ll soon be over. Vote early. And vote often.
