Welcome to the New Year (I know it’s late but I’ll be that guy)! I want to start off with a massive thank you to those of you who’ve joined us since early November. To the rest of you – sorry it’s been so long, but the Unbound website was being redesigned and we’re now finally up and running again.
The good news is that since I last messaged you we’ve shot up to 41% funded and 161 supporters! That’s a big leap and some exciting momentum as we work towards our target of being fully funded this year. So, keep recruiting your shiver-prone friends to learn more about cold water benefits and please spread the word about my upcoming book. Your support is hugely appreciated.
These past few weeks it seems wintry fingers have clenched around the British Isles. Mum has been me sending photos of the brackish Solway Firth as it freezes over from the edges – those same waters we torpedoed through at the current-assisted end of our 90-mile River Eden swim, back in 2015. I hope you’ve all been enjoying shorter and more immersive dips out in the frosty wilds as well.
Last year, there was no shortage of converts and ritualistic explorers of wellness on ice. The mainstream continues to freeze over. Ice baths are being promoted by all kinds of modern day luminaries, from LeBron James and Lady Gaga to Harry Styles and Tony Robbins.
While the current picks up, we’re going to be digging in and gnawing bubbles as we rush towards our 100% target this year. Reach out and message me if you have any questions at all.
Happy Swimming!
Jack
