Spring is on its way, and all sorts of wonders are emerging from the woods and the hedgerows... in both the Real and the Other World! I'm just so excited to be sharing Phoebe's beautiful bookplate design. It has been specially commissioned for the collection and, as with all of Phoebe's work, it's a collectors' piece in its own right.
Each supporter can fill in their name on their bookplate - so if your copy of Lost & Found should ever go astray it will make its way back to you!
The mousekin has crept out of the tale of Little Sparrow - who is not a sparrow at all, but a brave young girl who finds herself battling one of my favourite, most complex Folk Tale adversaries: the iron-toothed, boney-legged Witch, Baba Yaga...
Little Sparrow felt a scrabbling at her shoulder and the voice that whispered into her ear was a voice she knew.
“Now comes the fixing of your fate,” said the mousekin.
"As it goes in your world, so it is in the land of Baba Yaga. There are two sides to all things. Love runs lightly as hate holds hard. ”
And with that, the mousekin was gone.
