Virtual Cities is happening!

First of all, a huge THANK YOU to all you wonderful people who helped the Virtual Cities campaign reach its funding goal in less than three weeks! Both I and Maria Kallikaki are beyond excited in the knowledge that our atlas is indeed happening! We also now know how (and where) to spend our summer.

What's more, we are looking --along with the wonderful team @ Unbound-- for ways of making this book even better than originally planned, and will of course keep updating you regularly on our progress and evolving plans.

We do hope, you see, to turn Virtual Cities into an unbelievable cartographic journey through the realms of digital urbanism; to reach as many people as possible, and to keep spreading the love of imaginary places, books, and interactive cities!

So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you! You are making this happen!

Yours,

Konstantinos Dimopoulos

P.S. I believe that people interested in game urbanism and architecture should also check out the stunning book that is The Continuous City by Gareth Damian Martin (of Heterotopias fame). It is a unique collection of analogue photography exploring digital space, and could definitely use a push. Oh, and if you love your illustrated gaming books you should definitely have a look at the mega-popular and lovely Fuck Yeah, Video Games book.
