Any hint of January blues have been well and truly banished today - we have just hit the 300 supporters mark! Thank you so much, all of you, for your belief in the book. Phoebe and I do really appreciate it, please do keep on sharing the words and the woodcuts and help us upwards and onwards into the New Year!
300 has always been in my mind as an important milestone. 3 is a magical number - and it forms the backbone of many Folk Tale motifs. We all know about the powers and follies of 3 wishes, of course. Then it's always the 3rd and youngest daughter or son who sets off on adventures and becomes the heroine or hero of their own story.
However, my personal favourite is the use of 3 in an Armenian proverb that I learned from the wonderful storyteller Vergine Gulbenkian. For me, it captures the purpose and the importance of Lost & Found. It is pinned on the wall above my desk as I write and keeps me rooted.
It is also best shared spoken - so whilst I was up at The Blackden Trust David Heke and I put together this video for you, in anticipation of reaching the magic 300 mark. I hope you enjoy.
The glass apple and the silver saucer are also powerful objects that belong to Little Stupid but that is, as they say, another story...
