Hello wonderful pledgers! Nearly one week in and 19% funded!I've been thinking about you all a lot this week and wonderig how my first project update can really express my gratitude for supporting Be More Mermaid in its first week. Truly, it means more than you can probably imagine!

Writing a book has been dancing around at the edges of my mind for many years but a combination of fear, self-doubt and 'waiting for the right time' stopped me dipping my toes further into the idea. Without a friendly nudge from the team at Unbound perhaps I never would have taken the plunge. Yet here I am - toes well and truly dipped and there's no turning back now.

The first week of crowdfunding has been quite the emotional rollercoaster. I had no idea what to expect when I announced the book on Monday - not only is writing a book new territory for me but so is entering into the crowdfunding process. Honestly, I feel like I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing! If I've learnt aything about the times I feel absolutely clueless and vulnerable it's that these are the times I am open to learning the most - and that's a really exciting prospect! 

I have been floored and moved by the enthusiasm and support I have received so far but, because I'm a greedy mermaid with a penchant for carbs, I NEED MORE! Things are only just getting started!

How can you help? I would love you to share my page and encourage your nearest and dearest (I'm also cool with you accosting nice looking strangers in the street too, FYI) to pledge. I truly believe we can all learn something from being a bit more mermaid and it's about so much more than putting on a tail. Trust me, there's nothing that makes you feel less like a mermaid than when you're lubing up your limbs to slide "effortlessly" into a tail. Hmmm, perhaps the promise of watching a video of me "tailing up" when I reach 50% funding will see the pledges come flying in. Leave that with me...
