stim,Stim: An Autism Anthology | Lizzie Huxley-Jones | undefined
Hello all,
I hope you're all doing well, and (if you're in the UK) prepping for the incoming heat wave this weekend. Fill up those ice trays.
This weekend I'm going to be going through all the pitches I received for Stim. You may have noticed that the contributor list says "and more to be announced". That's because I decided to launch the book with roughly half the book planned and keep searching for additional voices.
I've had over 50 pitches for the remaining spaces in the book and even just at a glance I'm overwhelmed by the talent. The hardest part of being a curatorial editor is choosing what works together in a single book. I currently have about half of the pitches printed and stacked on my bed, ready for reading.
Basically friends, some more absolutely amazing work is coming and I'm so excited to share the whole book with you.
As we go through over the next year, I will share excerpts with you, hints and stories of what making a book looks like. This is the third time I've done this and the rush of finding new voices never gets old. I hope you get as excited as I.
As ever, please share the pledge page around. May is going to be a toughie with two bank holidays, but the more we share and talk about it now, the better. We're a smigde off 35% and almost at 250 backers which would be a wonderful milestone to hit this weekend.
All the best,
Lizzie
