We wanted to provide a quick progress update on Mindful Soldier: Building Resilience to Overcome Life’s Challenges by Ash Alexander-Cooper.

As an early supporter, you will be aware that from the very beginning, the author has been clear in his desires both to support veterans, by donating all author profits to two charities close to his heart, and also to comply fully with any government review requirements, given that a number of military vignettes are referenced in the book as context for discussion of the core themes of resilience, trauma, loss and recovery.

Any book which references military operations is subject to government review prior to publication, and unfortunately, despite submission of the final manuscript for this review many months ago, it has not been possible to obtain the necessary approvals in time to meet our original planned publication date of January 2025.

We are continuing to work with the relevant government department to secure the final thumbs up, and while we do so have had to revise the publication date back to August 2025.

We realise this will be disappointing news for those eagerly awaiting their copy, and we’re so sorry for the delay. Unbound and the author have done everything within their power to meet the original schedule, but this is a process over which we have limited control.
