Dear Storytelling Friends,

Here’s the cover of the book that will be dropping onto your doormats in six months time. The image is from the ‘Cueva de los Manos’ in Argentina. The hand silhouettes (some dating back 9,000 years) seemed to me to be the perfect visual metaphor for stories created by our anonymous ancestors over uncounted centuries. They also – as you will see – echo the illustrations created for the book by my friend Nanette Hoogslag.

The title Unriddling the World references a quote from Alan Garner ‘We have to tell stories to unriddle the world’ and is used with his permission.

The book is in the final stages of production now and I’m looking forward to sharing it with you.

All good wishes,

Hugh
