wanted to start by saying thank you to you all. Where Are the Fellows Who Cut the Hay? wouldn't have happened without you. I hope I repaid the faith you put in me. It’s had some positive press reviews and was longlisted for the prestigious Wainwright Prize. I was recently interviewed on stage at the Leiston Book Festival by Paul Heiney, who had written the foreword. That was one of many book events I’m speaking at this autumn.

The popularity of  Where Are the Fellows Who Cut the Hay? has prompted me to start work on another book, which will be similar in many ways, and different in others. In this one, titled Down to Earth, I explore our evolving relationship with soil, meeting people who connect with the earth in different ways. So far I’ve met farmers, gardeners, naturists and road builders, all of whom have fascinating stories I’ll share in this new book.

Down to Earth will be published early in 2026, but in true Unbound style, you can pre-order your copy now, and see your name printed in the back of the book. I’ll be working on the book over the coming months, and will update you each month on the progress I’m making.

Until next time
