Tales Accursed | Hiren Laxman | undefined

Hello again,

Apologies for the lack of updates, I’ve mainly been busy cracking on with lino prints for the book (see images below). But firstly, here’s an exclusive look at the final cover design for Tales Accursed!

If you squint, you might be able to spot the changes from the previous version…

I’ve updated some areas of the illustration from the launch image to better reflect specific tales, including the dreaded 'White Cat of Drumgunniol' and one of the fearsome skeletal fiends from M. R. James’s 'Wailing Well'. You might also spot that I’ve added some highlights which I think gives the illustration a little lift. One last detail – the folks at Unbound have confirmed that the yellow text will be finished in a gold foil, so expect to see Tales Accursed gleaming from your bookshelf! I’m looking forward to seeing how that comes out.

Other than that, I’m continuing to work on lino cutting. Here’s my latest completed illustration, for John Buchan’s 'No-Man’s Land' (1899), in which a student on a walking trip strays too far from civilization and encounters an ancient tribe of cave-dwelling Picts! I have a limited quantity of this and other lino prints for Tales Accursed currently available in my shop (cheeky plug!) if you’re interested in building a collection!

OK that’s everything for now.

Thanks again,

Richard
