stim,Stim: An Autism Anthology | Lizzie Huxley-Jones | undefined

Hello chums,

I hope you're all doing well and feeling suitably festive, or happily unfestive if you'd prefer that option.

We haven't got an Introducing... to share right now as our next batch are happily scribbling away, and we will have a few posts for you in the new year, and I felt that now was probably a good time for a break.

Admittedly, I thought it would be a break from crowdfunding too, but we're currently standing at about £16 off 66%, something I didn't think I'd be saying in December. It's so lovely to have people preordering the book even in this classically spendy month.

I wanted to say thank you all for your pledges and tweets and support thus far. The project has been live since just before Autism Awareness Week in 2018, and I fully expect we will hit 100% by the same date in 2019 (April 2nd, for those wondering). I appreciate your patience with Stim -- publishing is a long game, and even crowdfunding is too. I didn't think it would be a quick endeavour, given that the only 16% of autistic people are in full time employment, meaning we're often a group with not much spare cash. Once we've hit 100%, we will be able to give you all a timeline for the book itself. I actually have several of the pieces already completed so that gives us a little boost. All things come in their own time; as my mother once said "you wouldn't take a cake out of the oven if it wasn't ready."

I hope you all have a very happy holiday time doing whatever it is you decide to do. I will be spending much of it curled up with my partner and our dog, trying to not thinking about writing or crowdfunding, but we will see how successful that is in the next few weeks.

All the best,

Lizzie
