It's only been a handful of weeks since launching this project and already I've done a glut of broadcast and print interviews. Even more gratifying is the support I've received from some of the greatest names in comedy. Obviously, if you have watched the promotional video, you will have seen Barry Cryer and Terry Jones (Happy Birthday to Monty Python today, by the way!) and they have been joined by Matt Lucas, Mark Gatiss, Dave Gorman, Chris Addison, Danny Baker, steam punk comedy rapper Professor Elemental, 'The Thick of It' writer Simon Blackwell and Sam Bain, who not only co-created 'Peep Show' and 'Fresh Meat' but who is also the grandson of Ronald Frankau. The comedy wheel goes full circle. My week has included a lovely wallow in vintage editions of 'Crackerjack' - all together now, "Crackerjack!" - enabling me to re-live the forgotten slapstick genius of Peter Glaze. For twenty years he took pies in the face, gave good double-take and dropped "D'oh!" bombs at every turn. The children of the nation loved him. I still do.
What do you think of it so far?
