Valentine’s Dogs

Well, it’s that time of year again; love is in the air, and Hallmark shareholders are rejoicing. It’s Valentine’s Day, of course – and we’re here to tell you why, this year, all you need is dogs (to paraphrase John Lennon).

We’ve been going through the original thinking of canine philosophers (and even some humans!) to pull out some of the absolute best quotes from our four-legged friends about (puppy) love. By the end of this post, we hope you’ll understand that, as far as celebrating love goes – you need look no further than the next dog you meet. Now that’s where you’ll find a love and faithfulness that will never be broken.

“As with dogs, there is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness.” – Free-licks Nietzsche

"Love is a canvas furnished by dogs and embroidered also by dogs. – Voltaire/Volt-hair-e

“There is no remedy for love but to love more. And to get more dogs” – Henry David Fur-eau

“Dogs have given us their absolute all. We are the center of their universe. We are the focus of their love and faith and trust. They serve us in return for scraps. It is without a doubt the best deal man has ever made.” – Digger A. Caras

“If you want to be loved, get a dog.” – Ovid

“I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love. For me, they are the role model for being alive.” – Gilda Radner

“Dogs never bite me. Just humans.” – Marilyn Monroe

Of course, it is Valentine’s Day, and, as such, you may be in need of a (now last minute) gift for someone special. Remember; pledging to crowdfund a book could be the perfect Valentine’s Day gift this year.

After all, few things are as eternal as true love, and books. So is there any present more unique and special than getting the name of someone special printed in every copy of a book that they love? Or get both your names printed, knowing that they’ll be there, side by side, through the ages.

Not only can both you and they get the warm fuzzies for supporting new artists this year, next year you’ll both actually get to hold the book (with your names in it) in your hands paws. It’s two whole Valentine’s Days gifts in one!

Of course, as crowdfunders ourselves, we’re totally biased here, but there is no feeling quite like receiving a pledge to support our book. It speaks to the utter brilliance of human beings that we all want to help one another and support each other in creating new things. Simply put: reaching our funding target would be the greatest Valentine’s Day gift we could receive this year, and so, please do consider picking up a copy of ‘Philosophers’ Dogs’ on behalf of someone you know and care about – you would make both them, and us, incredibly happy.

Thanks, as always, for reading and for your absolutely brilliant ongoing support, friends.
