I'm always finding interesting examples of problem solving - some more successful than others. Here are some I've come across recently.
No, not a new character from 'Adventure Time' but a genuine 1920s full face swimming mask to protect ladies' delicate skin from the damage caused by harsh sunlight. And not at all mildly terrifying. Seeing it reminded me of another innovation in masks, namely the late 1930s 'Snow Cone' to protect your peaches and cream complexion from biting winds and snowy blizzards.
While we're in the face area, how about this for a clever, free way to promote your product by capitalising on the current vogue for selfies?
And, finally, an extraordinary photograph. And quite a sad one too.
What do you do if you're a couple who've been together for years but the one thing you don't share is a religion? In a religiously sectarian country, you can't be buried in the same cemetery without one of you converting. So what you do is this; you find two suitable graveyards that are separated by a wall and then build one of these so that, in some small way,the two of you can still be together in death.
If you're wondering where this is, it's in Roermont in the Netherlands. You can read the story of how it came to be on David Bruce's blog.
More quickies soon.
