So, just to keep everyone updated, especially in my self-imposed Twitter absence; things are going really well with the book. The development edit led to some sweeping changes in the way I'd formulated the book, but thanks to Simon, the editor, it reads so much more smoothly than it did. It was difficult, as some of the feedback led to some major chopping of passages, but it made totsal sense. I really had to focus on balancing and streamlining the content, but once I 'saw the light', I was able to immerse myself back into it and enjoy it, rather than be overly critical of myself. The copyedit process afterwards was a comparative breeze, in which it all fell into place coherently. It was great to live and feel this part of the process.
The most exciting update is that the book now has a beautiful, beautiful cover. I'm unbelievably happy with it and really can't wait to share it with everyone. I'm sticking by Twitter hiatus (which I stress, has been wonderful for my mental health) and will post the cover on the 1st of January 2019. We're now onto typesetting and have settled on a font, the priority for me now, is to ensure that Jo Brown's stunning chapter illustrations get the billing they deserve. It's going to be a gorgeous book and it's all very exciting right now.
I’m still posting blogs on www.birdtherapy.blog - check them out.
