Off to the publishers!

Happy Spring, Easter, Pesach, Persian New Year, Holi, Lailatul-Baraat, lockdown easing...

On this sunny Tuesday it feels like there is a change in the air and plenty to mark, or celebrate. And as part of that I am absolutely thrilled to let you know that I have submitted the 100 Voices manuscript to Unbound!

I’ve spent the last two months chatting to our writers, and even adding a few new writers such as actress Rebecca Root, authors Farhana Khalique and Melissa Fu, and poets Sharena Lee Satti and Ashby Young to our cohort of talent. Welcome aboard!

Reading all 105 stories (I couldn’t resist giving readers a few bonus entries) has reminded me of the strength of the writing in this collection, and the varied, vital ideas and experiences we have to share. I can’t wait to see the book in print and get it to you.

It is a huge milestone and we couldn’t have done it without so many people, especially our supporters. Today we are also celebrating our 500th supporter!! That's 500 people standing behind this book. What a great crowd to be in.

What next?

We will now get allocated a project manager/ editorial team and they will guide us through the stages towards printing, distribution and - the big launch of our book. Unbound have said it takes a year, so I am hoping we've just about managed to sneak in a publication date for Women's History Month 2022. Whatever the date, it is really happening.

I’ll be sharing bits of the book over the course of the next few months, including (I hope) a very special foreword. More soon!

We’re also continuing to run events - we’ll be at the Milton Keynes Literature Festival in April (and if you want us at your event, give me a shout). Keep an eye on our twitter @100voices100ye1 and Instagram @100voices100years

Enjoy the sun, and can’t wait to celebrate this occasion with you all, when we are allowed!

Miranda xx
