Hello mashheads,
Last week we hit a new milestone in the journey of this book, when I performed the opening chapter of THE MASH HOUSE at the Ness Book Fest. It was great to see some supporters and old pals in the crowd. A long drive up and down from Glasgow to Inverness but it was worth it.
The Ness Book Fest runs an innovative scheme to get new writers, like me, to share a stage with more established voices. So I had three minutes (I might have pushed it to four) to tell my story, before the main event with the writer Lucy Foley. I think it's a fine idea to mix writers at different stages of their career. Many thanks to Barbara, the host, and Lucy for letting me share that stage.
Meanwhile the crowdfunding campaign has reached 61%, with 229 supporters. This amazes me, and I am hugely grateful to everyone who has become involved. Please pass the details on to anyone else you many know who could be interested. I hope to complete the funding by the end of the year, with publication in mid-2020.
Cheers,
Alan x
