Let's do Launch

We had a nice little book launch party this week at the Narrow Boat Pub in Islington. The man who commissioned the book, Mat Clayton said a few words. Then I said a few more words. Then we drank wine and beer and I thanked people for not only making the journey to be there (one came from France!) but also to say thank you for pledging at the Launch Party level. Every penny helps to get a book to 100% and I am so thankful to people who are willing to risk their money by putting their trust in me.

Coincidentally, that evening, another Unbound author - Alice Jolly - won a major literary award. Dead Babies and Seaside Towns beat off some stiff competition to win the PEN Ackerley prize for memoir/autobiography. In her acceptance speech Alice said:

It isn’t just my book, [it’s the book for all those people] who had the nerve to come forward with their money to say ‘yes we believe in this book. Unbound published this book when nobody else would … they stuck by this book all the way and believed in it when other people didn’t.'

Hear hear.

Thank you again to Unbound and, more importantly, to you the subscribers, for making Why Did The Policeman Cross The Road? a reality.

And if you fancy something more in the line of a comedy novel, do please consider risking a few quid on my next book A Murder To Die For.

Ta!
