Well, friends, the leaves are turning, the nights are starting to draw in, and every now and then you see a pug in a pumpkin costume cross the road in front of you. It can mean only one thing: Halloween (Howl-o-ween, in the canine calendar) has come and gone and we’re delighted to share an update about the progress of our book (accompanied by some pictures of dogs in appropriate seasonal attire, of course).
Since reaching our funding target (whoop, whoop!), both Rosie and I have been busy putting the finishing touches to both the manuscript and Rosie’s incredible illustrations. We wanted to get this just right before sending to the fabulous editorial team at Unbound, and in absolutely fabulous news, we were even able to draw upon the editorial expertise and guidance of Wellcome Book Prize-winning novelist, Will Eaves, who made sure the copy of the book was in tail-waggingly good shape.
So, we’re delighted to say that we have now submitted “the goods” to our brilliant Unbound team and we can’t wait to get stuck into the next rounds of edits.
Now that we’ve submitted the manuscript, we’ll be working closely with the Unbound editorial team to steer the text and images through all the editorial, design and production processes towards print and eventual publication! How exciting is that?
We’ll keep you posted with future updates as we make our way through the editorial processes, and also let you know about our scheduled publication date, once confirmed, so you can all save the date.
To say a huge thank you to all you brilliant sup-paw-tors, we’ll also be sharing an exclusive sneak peek at one or two of Rosie’s fabulous, never-before-seen illustrations. All for your eyes only!
But for now, here’s a couple more images of dogs in Halloween costumes! (We know how important it is to give the people what they want).
Did you ever see ghosts with such boop-able snoots?
