Hello,
First of all, as you'll have been informed by now, the book has SAILED over its preorder target and will be dropping on your doorsteps sometime in 2020. That, and "before Waterstones gets it" is as specific as I can be right now – but the manuscript deadline is less than five weeks away. So excited, and I love you for being here before it's even finished. THANK YOU.
Second of all, Unbound have a 20% discount on a few Halloweeny books his week on Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st, and since we all still think of death as scary, that includes This Party's Dead. If you want to preorder or upgrade, use the code SPOOKY to get 20% off, and be quick about it.
Third, DAMN you people like the idea of eating the bones of your dead loved ones in sugary form – FORTY ONE of you have ordered the Biscotti Edition of This Party's Dead. Since they're a magical biscuit where the dough separates in the oven and leaves an amazing flour 'bone' on top, and since the moment in the book where I learn to make them goes hilariously wrong, I started getting nervous. Could I really make these, properly? So I tried. Here's the video, if you want to see how that went, and have a go yourself.
Fourth, would you like a snippet of the chapter on Sicily's Festa dei Morti? What's that, you're feeling lazy, you've got 10 minutes and would prefer I read it TO you? Done: here's the audio version, read by me.
(Also worth checking out: a local radio station in London is airing a show with me and a collection of authors reading Halloween-inspired snippets of their books at 7pm on October 31st).
That's enough outta me. Again, THANK YOU for your support for a book that is now TOTALLY NEARLY FINISHED.
Lots of love/ best wishes/ whatever is appropriate for our previous level of interaction,
Erica x
