Hello!
I've been writing a lot recently! You probably knew that bit already.
The time has come for me to tease you with little bits of information. Today that information will relate to guests.
As with the first book, I've been very lucky with the guest writers - they all have an interesting story about their most disappointing game purchase, and the ability to tell it well. It's important to me as the guests offer a pleasing palette cleanser breaking up the RELENTLESS HORROR of the terrible games. Plus every single person I asked said yes, which was super nice.
I relaxed the rules slightly for the guests and allowed a few console games as long as they were from the 1980-1995 time period. This was for a very specific reason: One of them was going to talk about Superman for the Amstrad CPC, but let slip that they'd actually paid money for Kriss Kross Make My Video for the Mega CD and I couldn't miss the opportunity to hear that tale of deepest woe. (If you've never heard of Kriss Kross, they were a teenage hip hop duo who wore their clothes backwards. Seriously.)
But who are these guests of legend? Well... I'm not telling yet. Except for Guru Larry, who is returning with a full guest chapter.
Anyway, I'm off to write about some racing games for the Commodore 64, which I discovered is a particularly dark corrner of gaming history.
Cheers,
Stuart.
