Thank you so much to early supporters, it is a thrill to get to eight percent over night. Really, thank you.
I feel that it will probably get harder as it goes along, but I have lots of ideas to build momentum. One of the things I am quite clear about is that at some point, I would like to be making a contribution to domestic violence charites and refugee groups, given the subject of my book, and given how much they struggle for funds. And so far, first ideas are looking like they might be really fun too, so stay posted for updates.
One of the themes that became clear as I was writing Twice the Speed of Dark is that of making a connection. By going through the process of thinking what people might be like, by inventing ordinary, precious lives for them, it made me realise that we must connect with others, with strangers. Even if it is just to smile, to acknowledge our sameness. It has just occured to me that setting out on this funding campaign works wonderfully in furtherance of that ideal.
So, thank you to those who have so swiftly made a contribution, and welcome, I hope we all gain from joining up here.
