Editorial Work Concludes...Now It Gets Exciting

This is a broadcast coming to you out of England's Tier 4 exclusion zone...

I know an update has been a long time coming, but I am very happy to inform you that the copy edit (that's round two of the editorial process) has been completed and my editor's response is cause for excitement (see below):

Above: my editor was so excited that he even forgot to spell 'proofreading' correctly. What a legend!

In other good news, I have my first cover quote for the book and it's a belter. I will reveal the quote at a slightly later date, but I can tell you it has come from a very well known Arthur C. Clarke Award-winning author (sci-fi buffs among you will know what that means!). I'm also waiting on several other amazing authors who have agreed to read an advance copy of the novel with a view to providing some kind words for the cover.

Now, 2020 has been an appalling year in many ways and it is very difficult to take positives from it. However, each and every one of you has helped Rory Hobble and the Voyage to Haligogen on its way to publication, and so we form a very special little community that I am excited to be a part of, and I hope you are too.

Looking ahead to 2021, the launch will be on 1st July and, from January, the work really does intensify ahead of publication. I'm looking forward to what I hope will be a very exciting conversation with Unbound in the New Year about my vision for this book; I will be sending advance review copies out to all the major media reviewers; I'll be liaising with OCD Action about the school packs I've discussed before; and we will be getting sight of the all-important front cover!

For now though, I wish you all a warm, safe and enjoyable Christmas, as well as a happy New Year.
