I came in from a long walk with the dogs to discover that this page had gone live, very exciting and I'm thrilled to nano particles that some people have already pledged support for News from the Squares.
I am doubly excited because when I launched News from Gardenia on Unbound, the book was more or less finished. There wasn't much interacting I could do with supporters and potential readers of the work as it was all done bar the editing.
So far I have only written about a third of the News from the Squares, to be more accurate I have re-written the first 3rd a few times already but I'm delighted to announce that I feel confident it's finally working.
Gavin Meckler, my hero is going through some dramatic personal changes, he is discovering that a slightly nerdy 21st century man is often not aware of his emotions possibly affecting his behaviour when they're happening, this is something he becomes aware of during his experiences in the vast and wonderful squares of London.
He is also struggling with the new social order, women are the dominant gender in that they run the city, and as he is soon to discover, the world.
This is, I have to say, a fascinating thought experiment, would the world be better if it was run by women. Would men really be happier, would children develop in a different way if their primary carer was a man.
I'd love your feedback on these topics if you're of a mind.
More very soon
