A couple of shedposts ago (4th November) I was celebrating the fact that I'd just finished the edit of the first draft of Why Did The Policeman Cross the Road?
I then passed it to my editor for comments and he sent it back.
I have just spent a week completing the second edit and the finished book reads really well I think :)
It's now time for a break but, as soon as we're all back to work in the New Year, the book will go into production. That'll mean proof reading, typesetting and design. We'll source the final few photos and sort out licences. And we'll get back the final artwork for the cover.
And then it'll be printing time. Proofs and galleys will be checked, a final readthrough will mop up any tiny final problems and then the books will be winging their way to you.
The official release date is 19th May and it's already available for pre-order on sites like Amazon and Waterstones (although th cover shown is not the final artwork). However, all you lovely subscribers will get your special, limited-edtion hardbacks some time before that. I'm hopeful for March and will push as hard as I can to make it so.
In the meantime have a wonderful, fun-filled and safe holiday and I'll see you all in 2016.
And thank you once again, from the bottom of my heart, for helping to make this book a reality.
