"Achieving great things is like going on a very good, long walk - not through a single great stride; but rather through a series of short steps, taken one after another. Often in pursuit of squirrels." - Vincent van Woof.

Hello friends! We've reached 20% of our goal and you are helping us take the little steps we need towards making 'Philosophers' Dogs' a reality. Having been quite literally in an underground military bunker for most of this week, it was the most incredible feeling to emerge, blinking, into the glorious light of my laptop screen to see that this second milestone on our journey towards publication has been reached. If I could give each and every one of you wonderful people a quarter of that sense of happiness I would do so in a tail-wag because it is wonderful - just like each and every one of you!

Though we're still relatively fresh on this crowdfunding trail, one of the most incredible things has been the generosity of everyone who has supported the project so far - and the words 'thank you' don't really seem to do it justice. But, still; thank you all - so very much. With your help, we can and will spread the truth about our canine companions that has been kept secret for so long - that all human philosophers stole their ideas from their dogs.

One of the reasons I have shared with you this lovely quote from Vincent vab Woof - the four-legged friend of a certain Dutch artist currently on display at The Tate Britain - is because crowdfunding does seem to be like a very long dog walk. At times, it can seem as though the destination is so far away; and yet, the best thing about the dog walk is not only the journey itself, and the discoveries you make along the way (often, in the case of my dog, Reg, these discoveries often include delicious rotten apples and other tasty treats) - but it's also the companions who join you on your way. You never go for a dog walk alone; but with your best friends and companions. And it's so very excellent to be on this journey with all of you.

Of course; we are not at all an exclusive club, and so we would love to be joined by your friends, family, co-workers and acquaintances. Please do spread the word and share the link to this page with them - it makes such a huge difference and will make it so much more likely that we reach our goal.

To that end, please accept this video of Reg (embedded in this update), and ask yourselves: "should strokes ever stop? If the answer you give is 'sometimes', you have not fully understood the question."
