6 months final push... (with your help please lovelies)

Dear lovely supporters

Can you believe it's been 6 months since my book came out into the world? Have you enjoyed it? I hope so :)

I hope you don't mind me asking for your help me promote the book in the next 6 months whilst it's still fresh, new and before it turns one year old and becomes harder to get media attention. I know you're busy people so here are my suggestions I would love your help with

  1. Podcasts - Through recommendations from listeners I've been on a few podcasts based aroudn the world now. it's really powerful if a listener of a podcast suggests me as an interviewee to the podcast producer suggesting that my book and story would benefit their listeners. Could you tweet or email (most podcasts have a website with a Contact Us page and even a 'Suggest an interviewee' page) suggesting me as an interviewee? I can then follow up with any tweets or emails :)
  2. Journalists - if you know any journalists whether freelance for staff on a media outlet could you send them a one line email or text saying something like "I'm reading How To Be A Craftivist: the art of gentle protest' and was just thinking you and your readers might really enjoy learning more about this book and it's author. No pressure."
  3. Amazon Althought I never promote Amazon (I promote independent booksellers)- reviewing my book on Amazon.co.uk not only helps more people see it but actually influences booksellers (big and small) decide whether to stock 'How To Be A Craftivist: the art of gentle protest' or not. Do you have 5 minutes to log in, add some stars and just a sentence saying if you enjoyed the book and/or found it helpful at all please?:) Great news that Amazon.com (USA) are now stocking my book. If you review my book here then it could really help increase the chance of getting US Distribution of the book which would be ace right!:) I have a few lovely independent book shops and craft stores who would love to sell my book but the import cost is just too much for them at the moment. Could you help me reach this goal with a Amazon.com review please? :)
  4. Events I'll be speaking at Hay Festival about my book next month yay!:) Do you know any festivals or events where you think my message would resonate with the audience? Could you suggest me? My TED talk 'Activism Needs Introverts' has just reached over a million views at TED.com and I'm off to San Francisco to speak to hundreds of mostly men at the Maker Faire about how they can use their passion for making to make a positive differerence in our world.
  5. Keep spreading the word to people you think would enjoy my book whether that's in person, via a text or on social media using #HowToBeACraftivist to intrigue and attract readers with lovely photos of your book and you. It's word of mouth that really is golddust that helps spread the message that activism can be beautiful, kind and just and this book is a useful tool to help people be gentle protesters in a strategic, creative and loving way. How can people resist this wonderful opportunity you are offering them?!;p

Thanks so so much for taking the time to read this update and please do reach out with any feedback or thoughts or if you need extra help like a little script or outlets to contact (sarah@craftivist-collective.com). This is our book we created together, now we have 6 months left of it being a 'new' book to share with the world to grow the Gentle Protest movement... can you be part of this campaign pretty please? :)

All my gratitude, encouragement and respect

Your little craftivist friend, Sarah x

PS Here is a little 7minute talk on 'Intimate Activism' I gave last week in front of hundreds of professional, experienced campaigners (including Amnesty International, Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth and more) at a campaigning conference at Oxford University. I hope it makes you smile
