One hundred backers! I never thought when I set off on this journey into the unknown with Unbound that I would be able to persuade, cajole, nag and blackmail one hundred people to pledge support for my book. But I did. And you have. Thank you, thank you, thank every single, wonderful one of you.
Now, I've never climbed a mountain and probably never will, but I've seen Touching the Void twice and it seems to me, the pledge process is rather like climbing a steep and rocky mountain: difficult, draining and you're likely to get bruised and battered along the way. With your help, I'm almost at the summit - 50%, which will be further cause for celebration - but as every armchair mountaineer will tell you, it's the descent back down that's the killer.
So, thanks for the metaphorical extra anoraks, oxygen tanks and Kendal Mint Cakes of your support so far. Just one more push to the top and then it's best foot forward to navigate the tricky path down to the safety of Base Camp - that is, in this rather tortured analogy, 100% funding and publication.
Wish me luck and, don't forget this lonely mountaineer, if you have pledges to spare, or Tweets, Liikes, Instagrams and so on to Share. And thanks again.
