One of the fun things about making The Blackbird handmade edition is seeking out architectural papers. Today we used a very special mesh paper to create pockets that will be sewn into the book block. The pocket will contain a unique folded drawing.

We lined up the holes in the mesh with the sewing stations along the spine so that we can sew it in directly.

Next, the book blocks will be glued and laced into their covers, and work can begin on the hard cases!
