Hello,

Today (April 2nd) is International Children's Book Day. To celebrate I sat down (virtually) and chatted (virtually) with Sophie Anderson. Sophie won last year's Wales Book of the Year and her brilliant book, The Girl Who Speaks Bear, has been shortlisted for this year's Carnegie Medal. Sophie is retelling Branwen's story for The Mab and I wanted to chat to her about how she went about writing it. We chatted about why retellings of myths are so important, what research she did for the story, and how she changed some of the more gory details for younger readers.

I hope you like it. There is also an offer code for The Mab this weekend, get 20% off all pre-orders by putting CRACKING20 at checkout. You can use it yourself, share it with friends, or use it to upgrade to a new level. If you're unsure how to do this then here's a quick guide http://help.unbound.com/en/articles/3159595-how-do-i-upgrade-my-level-of-support

Thanks so much and enjoy the chat with Sophie,

Matt
