“An allotment isn’t just a place for plants to grow, it’s a place for people to grow as well.”

I have met some of the most extraordinary people researching The Allotmenteers. One of them, JD, who has an allotment in Nottingham, summed up so many of their thoughts with these words:
An allotment isn’t just a place for plants to grow, it’s a place for people to grow as well.”
Physical and mental wellbeing is a recurrent theme for the people who took time to talk with me about their beloved allotments. They are spaces where they can stop thinking about all the other 'stuff' going on in their lives. They are places where they can tend to the simple and most satisfying things in life. They are places where they swap digital for agricultural, or stop stressing over the big things to sweat over earthy matters. They are grounded, great thinkers and utterly gorgeous. Please do continue to pledge to have these gems published and thanks to all those people who have done so already.
