It is exciting to see our book slowly being scuplted into existence. We are now enetering the pre-press stage where we get to fiddle with all of the creative detail that will lift my words from my computer to a beautifully bound, well designed and proffesionally edited book. Thank you for making this possible - I am so happy to be sharing this with you all.
Now the fun begins! I shall receive back the edits from my assigned editor at the end of June and shall have the manuscript back to Unbound by the end of July. Then we begin the cover design, typesetting and proofreading!
While we are waiting for "You Are What You Read" to go through the production process, there is so much exciting news to share!
I have been selected to curate solutions-focused news content for a news aggregation network called PIQD. They have recently launched a new channel called "Doing Good" in which 10 of us search the web each week to bring stories of progress and development.
The speakers for the News Rewired event on the 11th July have been confirmed and I shall be sitting with Tom Colls, a senior journalist on World Hacks; Mark Rice-Oxley, head of special projects, the Guardian; and Julia Migné, co-founder, INKLINE, on a panel discussing the benefits of a solution-focused approach to storytelling.
I am so excited with how the book is shaping up and it is so wonderfully energising to know that I have such a great team behind me, sharing in the progress of this book. I cannot wait for us all to have a copy in our hands or on our screens!
Pre-order Stays Open
The most important message to keep spreading is that this book is now available for pre-order. And those that pledge at this stage, will still be listed in the supporters section of the book! This is not about turning a profit for me as this project is, and has always been, a labour of love. But if we want to see change take place, we need to get this into the hands as many people as possible and get as many supporters on board at this stage to become a part of this book and its message too.
If you have anyone that you know of that may wish to join our movement for a more constructive media, please share this with them!
Thank you for your continued support and stay tuned!
