It has finally happened. After more than two years, Weightless Fireworks is arriving through letterboxes, appearing in pigeonholes and, in one case, handed through an open window on a sunny morning.
Here are just a few of the many photographs that have been sent to me, or shared on social media, showing the book in the wild.
Someone even managed to unearth my very first poetry collection, from 1991, to snap them side by side.
If you are reading this and have yet to receive your copy then give it till the end of next week and if still no sign then feel free to let me know or bother the support team at Unbound and we'll sort you out, so to speak.
In terms of the rewards, there are just a handful still to deliver. A few cakes, a couple of porcelain tiles and the cover prints, but they will all be dispatched very soon.
And then that is it. You won't need to hear from me again. Probably. I am very proud of this book, I think it is a handsome beast, but I have no plans to do another crowdfunding project, and Weightless Fireworks won't be available in shops, so I won't be plugging it or promoting it anywhere. This little volume can sit snugly, and silently, on your shelves and won't cause any trouble at all.
Thanks again, everyone x
