Well, this is incredible!
At the start of this journey, I was advised that Unbound projects are most likely to succeed when they reach 30% in the opening 30 days.
On Day 35, Guerrillas hit 100%.
First things first, I'd like to give an enormous thank you to everyone who put Guerrillas in such a strong position, and guaranteed that the world WILL get a neurodiverse war novel with teenage heroes from a special school! Who'd have thought it?
(The amazement for me goes even further. I recently learned that on average, books only sell 250-300 copies in their opening year (and 3000 in their lifetime). Guerrillas has sold over 350 copies, little over a third of the way through the pre-order stage. This was your doing, so thank you all again.)
So what happens next? Each of you should have received an email from Unbound (and they'll be keeping you updated throughout the process). The next 3-6 months will involve me talking with editors, cover artists, a marketing team and so on- exciting times! Especially since most publishers take up to TWO YEARS to do what Unbound do- evidently they don't like to keep readers waiting when they've already pre-ordered.
For those who want to follow Guerrillas' Facebook page, I'll be posting more updates (and spoiler-free teasers, character profiles etc) there.
And in the meantime we have until early December until the pre-order stage ends, so feel free to keep sharing with anyone you think would love the book themselves.
Take care, and thanks once again for all your support!
