Salt Lick in 100 words

Imagine England with no farms. Food production has moved overseas, the countryside is once again wild. Jesse fears that his family like many others will be forced to move to the city. Isolde leaves London on foot looking for answers about the death of her mother. Separated by wild countryside and several decades, Salt Lick tells the story of what connects Jesse and Isolde. Their way is overseen by a chorus, the dreamy herd voice of feral cows, who are impatient with humans for their cruelty and inability to settle but who watch over Jesse and Isolde with loving care.
