Here's a photo of a very Barchester-y bit of Norwich, outside The Tea House on Elm Hill. I love the way my City just startles you with beautiful old buildings tucked in to corners. The past is always there - you ignore it at your peril.
While I was sitting there, a young pigeon was occasionally rattling and thumping at the glass, having flown in at another window and got itself stuck, making some nice creepy noises and giving me the odd start. (Don't worry, the pigeon was rescued.)
Meanwhile, the MS of Time's Fool has just got through it's structural edit, with Scott approving the changes I'd made. It's now been passed to a structural editor who will take her red pen to all my purpleness, and get it back to me. I'm not scared at all.
Just like I wasn't scared by the pigeon.
