Year zero: post funding
So...sneaking a first update into 2017 before it's sat on by 2018:
For those not aware - I began researching The Passing Tribute in autumn 2015, concluding with a freezing sejourn in Austria and Italy in January the following year. Really, freezing. I first set pen to paper in February and then worked fairly solidly on the novel until the end of this last summer. That has got me to the end of the third draft which Unbound took on.
The first question being answered: it is finished. I will begin working with an Unbound editor in January, and then sit back down in front of the trusty 2008 white macbook (an unstrategic drop last year followed by new hard-drive has given it a dazzling new life) and aply the edits.
The second question being answered is: the printed book should be sometime around the summer; maybe a little earlier, maybe a touch later - all depends on how inept the editor thinks I am.
The final question to be answered is that - upon Unbound's recommendation - most pledges will be fulfilled at the same time as the book comes out. Lessons I shall, however, fulfil in the coming months...and balls will depend on whether we can manhandle the cardboard packaging around them with the book or not. I'll keep you posted!
That's it for now. Fire away if you have any questions or acerbic observations.
Merry Christmas!
Simon
