Dear mashheads,

Today is a bit of a landmark day in the journey of THE MASH HOUSE - thanks to 188 generous souls, I have reached the halfway stage of funding. 

I've been so grateful for pre-orders from old pals in Fife, my wonderful family, colleagues old and new, and the pupils and parents from Fernhill School, where I teach English. I've also had support from friends of friends, twitter acquaintances, respected writers, and whisky aficionados from across the world. Huge thanks to all.

There's another 50% to go of course, but this is my childhood dream coming true.

I recently ordered some bookmarks with the novel's mock-up cover design, and they came out great. I'm going to use these to try and attract more supporters in the coming weeks.

If you'd like any bookmarks, send me a wee message and I'll post a handful out to you. If any of my supporters are able to compel their neighbours / friends / colleagues to pledge a little support, that would be the most wonderful gift.
