One Week Down

Hello everyone,

I've decided to try and post here weekly to keep you all updated. I'll include a few musings and bonus extracts of the novel in progress. I can't wait to share them all with you.

We are one week down and already at 16%, that's incredible! Thank you all so much for your support. Each and every one of you is a wonderful person. A special thanks goes to the supporter who pledged to name the dog. We've had a few discussions on the name already, and once we hit 50% I'll share the name with everyone!

Please continue to spread the word if you can. I would love to bring this novel to life for you all, it's my dream, but I will need all the support I can summon. I should really invest in a new grimoire...

I will post another update soon but for now I'll leave you with a short extract from the second chapter of The Log House.

Her feet thumped against the ground. A regular rhythm.

The knocking of a door.

"Damn it," she hissed, staring about her as she fled.

To her right, through a thistle bush, she could see a crooked tree, limbs bowed low enough she might be able to reach. Penny pushed herself towards it, wrapped her arms around a low branch and pulled herself up. Her feet scrambled against the bark, toes stretched and searching. She managed to rest one foot on the trunk of the tree, but it slipped, catching a broken edge on its way down. Penny held back a cry, tears prickling in her eyes.

The forest fell still.
