Manuscript submitted!

Hello everyone (remember me?)

I am extremely happy to report that the manuscript for The Laughing Baby is now with my editor. It has been nearly two years since we launched the project and at least four years since I started planning the book. I had no idea it would take this long and I thank you for your patience. This is one of the toughest challenges I've faced. This was harder than my PhD and there were plenty of moments of despair. But we got there and I am very pleased the end result.

What happens now?

OK, so it is not quite the end result. You will have to be a patient a little longer because now comes the edit. My lovely editor, Scott Pack, will go through what I've written to make sure it is readable. Are there things which are unclear? Are there things which are unnecessary or missing? Could the overall structure of the book be improved? This takes time but definitely not another two years. I will keep you updated and I will post some more extracts as we go. For now, here's the table of contents as it stands:

PS The manuscript is currently 112,000 words long. Which is 25,000 more than I intended and 13,000 more than my PhD.
