It’s been just over a month since I began my crowdfunding journey and so far it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster.
It’s definitely been hard work and I don’t think I’ve ever talked so much about myself or my work. As a classic introvert, that’s taken me way out of my comfort zone, but it’s been fun too. The biggest challenge was making a video of me chatting about the novel and then plucking up the courage to share it on Facebook. It might not sound like much, but cameras and I don’t go well together!
And I didn’t realise just how amazing it would feel each time someone new bought a copy of my book, especially someone who has chosen it based on the description alone and not because they know me or my work.
The Disappeared is now a quarter of the way to its funding target and I wouldn’t have got that far without you.
So I wanted to write a quick note to say thank you to everyone who has pledged so far. You’re all fabulous!
Have a wonderful Christmas – I hope Santa brings you something special.
