So, it's been a fairly potty week since the Pitch Party on Monday evening and I've only just managed to catch my breath.

My pitch went pretty well. I was third up out of the eight authors, and remembered all my words and managed not to use my notes, which is probably the first time ever with stuff like this (practiced quite a bit on Sunday and mumbled through it over and over on the train up to London, hopefully without freaking out too many people).

Also managed to keep to my allotted 5 mins, more or less. Doing this stuff is great practice and I imagine I'm going to be trotting out that pitch a fair bit when I'm on the sales trail.

Turned out there wasn't actually a vote at the end for a favourite, it was just a chance for people to pitch to a new audience and get some pledges. A really lovely evening, amazing to have some surprise family and friends turn up to support.

There were some great pitches for some fab sounding books, and it was lovely to meet some of the authors and find out what inspired them.
