So, The Burning Hill got to 100% funded! Thank you so much for all your help. It actually got there just after my last update - I’m just a little slow catching up as life is a little frantic at the moment.
I’m running through my manuscript, tidying it up and making sure there aren’t any clangers in it before handing it over to an Unbound editor. The editor will then give it a going over and it will come back to me for rewriting, then a copy edit, then typesetting, then proofreading, with cover art along the way...
I will let you know as I get to the various stages; it will take up to 10 months before the book is in your hands, so I’m afraid you won’t get it in time for Christmas (not this one, anyway).
By the way, people can still pledge, so if you know anyone who is interested, please point them this way.
And so, to Christmas… with the advent calendars up in our house, we are faced with a rather pitiful sight each morning: the dog sitting hopefully beneath hers, waiting for her treat. The really sad thing is that this continues throughout most of January, the dog sitting in the same place, staring up at the empty space on the wall where the advent calendar used to be…
However, she did manage to exact some revenge yesterday when she ate my Christmas present from the family (a bag of jelly babies, since you ask). She wasn’t even ill afterwards so there were no important lessons learned, at least not by her.
