Somehow, incredibly, we have hit 100%! What a wonderful rush that final 5% was! And I just wanted to write a very quick thank you to you all, it all feels brilliant. I think it is most probably giving away WAY too much to let you know that I most probably saw every single name come in, and have silently thanked you already, and in some cases punched the air if your pledge was one that tipped me over a big milestone. But I want to say it properly too, because your faith in my idea has really touched me.
Although every single pledge is a precious and beloved brick in the wall, there are a few people who went above and beyond and that I want to thank properly. Mark Diacono and Otter Farm, Sara Venn, Dawn Isaac, Jane Perrone, India Knight, Emma Bradshaw, Ben Raynard and HiggledyGarden, Petra Hoyer Millar, Hillary Douglas-Smith of Bristol Mum, Andrew O'Brien, Peter Donegan of the Sod Show, my wonderful MUM Cath Read with those glorious prints, all amazed me in their efforts to get the word out. Im sure I've missed several others, Im sorry if it's you! I love you too! And so many of you shared and shared and shared, to get it out to as many people as possible. It was constantly surprising and delighting.
Crowdfunding is such a weird process, so completely awful at times when you get stuck in the doldrums and can't believe there is anyone left in the world that wants to know, or when you have to act shameless, big and bold when you are really feeling little and slightly embarassed. But the wonderful things far outweigh the awful in the end, and one of those wonderful things is that I feel so much more connected than I did before it began. I have felt buoyed up by my community, quite literally by the people I see when I walk out of my house and on the school run, by my family and friends, and by an INCREDIBLY supportive online community. It has been eye opening and hugely lovely to know that you are all out there wanting me to succeed.
Now I get to make this lovely thing, and I am ridiculously excited to do so. I am taking a week properly off to drink champagne (or hang out with the kids for half term) and then it begins. I will post here every now and then to keep you updated but in the meant time...have I said... THANK YOU!!! xxx
