Hello dear faithfhul supporters
Hoping you are all safely holed up with everything you need in these extraordinary times. I am well and well-supported by friends and neighbours and expecting to keep busy working my way through the to-be-read pile, painting walls and perhaps writing a bit, as well as running along the river for as long as that remains possible.
Meanwhile I'm getting started on the podcast (which might become a video), suggested by my good friend Aileen as an alternative to the Amnesty Bookshop book launch and reading. Either way I should be able to post on youtube, facebook and twittter, perhaps on 2nd April, officially publication day for The Tango Effect and the original date of the Amnesty event. I'm intending to replicate what I had in mind for that event, with two or three short readings from the book and a chance to answer any questions you might have. So... if you're curious, intrigued, baffled, keen to know more about the book, Parkinson's, Argentine tango, publishing with Unbound... do let me have your questions, either here or by dropping me an email (email@example.com) and I'll do my best to include answers in whatever format emerges.
If the podcast does materialise, it will be thanks to my son, Jack. I'm a bit bothered by a chance remark yesterday, wondering why The Tango Effect wasn't dedicated to him. As many of you will know, he has been very present throughout the journey, creative, resourceful and unflagging in his support. For the record: Jack, thank you so much - I couldn't have done any of it without you.
Finally, the outstanding rewards are on their way (honestly!) And a heads up: this Monday, all being well, the Daily Mail should be publishing an adapted extract from the book along with a picture or two. I haven't seen the photos yet so I'm crossing my fingers!
Take good care and stay safe.
With love and thanks.
