LATEST NEWS FROM THE LABYRINTH: THE STRANGER'S GUIDE TO WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE WORLD OF TALLISTON
The process of bringing a final manuscript to bookshops is not a swift one. With over 100,00 words to copy edit, proof and layout there’s a lot of work going on behind the scenes to bring you your special edition version of The Stranger’s Guide to Talliston. Currently the covers are being crafted and the story is finished editing and will soon be laid out and ready for that final proof.
It seems a long journey, but it was only April that the process started, and a year is an average time for books to appear. It was decided early in the process that we wanted to clear Christmas as a launch time, so now we are looking to focus on a spring date for completion of the special editions, and a few months later for final publication.
So, in the meantime…
THE STRANGER’S GUIDE TOURS OF TALLISTON
While just anyone can come and see the house, I wanted to create a unique and exciting way to experience the magical world of the novel. The Stranger’s Guide Tours of Talliston will run every month on the last Saturday at midday and are a full guided tour of the house and gardens, room by room, mapping out the labyrinth of the novel and exploring the stories and objects in each location. Afterwards, refreshments and cakes are served.
Step Inside The Book…
Once an ordinary house in an ordinary street, Talliston House and Gardens has been transformed into a series of inspiring locations, each set in a different time and place. Each room is the setting for a different chapter in the novel, allowing you to step from medieval tower rooms to New Orleans kitchens, visit sinister Scottish bedrooms and a cabin in the woods. Each room or garden has a rich story, unique smells and sounds and the entire house incorporates thousands of objects from around the world – all combining to create a truly extraordinary experience.
