Apparently, the pause icon was created by Ampex in the 1960s for the function that “stops operation intermittently and keeps the equipment in operating mode”, which sounds a lot like us right now.
I hope you are all keeping your equipment in operating mode!
While half the world have been bored to tears and the other half never been busier, the creative cogs in between my ears have been churning and the Survival Machines manuscript is now back in the hands of the editor. Thank you everyone who created character names for the book – they have all been added. The changes throughout were mostly light but spot on and the story is all the better for it. I can’t wait for you all to read it and immerse yourselves in John’s adventures! One more round with the editor, then it’s on to the copy editor...
Despite our steps forward, the real world is on pause. The trees maybe growing in the northern hemisphere, creating future paper for book production, but schedules have shunted and the print date for Survival Machines has been held back accordingly. I will let you know as soon as I receive a date, but I’m sure you have plenty of books to read in the meantime. Turn that telly off, get some vitamin D in the garden and read a good book!
Until we press play and get our lives back up to speed again, stay safe!
